CLIMATE:

The UAE is situated in the arid tropical zone extending across North Africa and Asia, along the Tropic of Cancer. The climate, influenced strongly by the Indian Ocean, is warm and sunny in winter with coastal humidity averaging 50-60% in coastal areas, and hot and humid in summer, with humidity reaching over 90%. There is a noticeable difference in climate between coastal, desert and mountainous areas of the UAE.

November to March are the winter months with average daytime temperatures of 24-26ºC and night time temperatures average 13ºC. Desert and mountainous regions often see 5ºC and below during winter nights, with lower humidity than in the coastal regions.

April to October are the summer months where temperatures during the day often exceed low 40’s, inland often reaches high 40ºC.

Average rainfall is less that 6.5 centimetres annually, most of which falls during December to February, and being sparse and intermittent, often in short sharp bursts which sometimes leads to flash flooding in some areas of the UAE.

The clear blue skies and warm temperate weather throughout the year make the UAE an attractive tourist destination and also a great location for a huge variety of sports and outdoor activities.
